Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills welcomed the Green Bay Packers to town for a "Sunday Night Football" matchup at Highmark Stadium following their bye week. The Bills were 5-1 coming into the game, and in search of their fourth-straight win.

While the Bills had an inconsistent night on the offensive side of the football - being a high powered offense one moment and then struggling to move the ball down field the next - the defense stood out, and helped slow the Packers enough en route to a 27-17 Bills win in Orchard Park.
Bills head coach Sean McDermott had plenty to say about his team's performance following the win Sunday night. One of the most prevalent thoughts being the desire to meet high expectations week-in and week-out.
"I don't think our whole football team right now, myself included, is where we wanna be," said McDermott following the victory. "We did some things tonight that are uncharacteristic of how we do things. We've got a week to get those things worked out here.
"It's hard to win, and it's good to win whenever you do win, so I don't want to overlook that. There was a lot of things in tonight's game that needed work."
One thing that was most noticeable from this game was the trash talk and chatter from both teams. This included a moment where Green Bay Packers linebacker Quay Walker was ejected from the game after an altercation with a Bills practice squad player on the sideline in the second quarter.
Despite things getting heated throughout the night, McDermott was pleased with how his squad kept their composure.
"I thought there were times we could've been more disciplined and should've been more disciplined. Obviously they had that one incident on our sideline there with losing their player there due to that incident. I was proud of the way our guys on the sideline held their composure on that," McDermott said.
Going along with the trash talk, wide receiver Stefon Diggs had a battle going with Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander that started before pregame warmups. McDermott held high praise for how Diggs rose to the occasion and played his game.
"I think there's respect between the two of them for each other's game, but that happens from time-to-time," McDermott said. "I know it gets 'Stef' going. He's a competitive player and competitive person, and I love watching him."
