Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN/WGR 550) - Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown stood on the steps of City Hall on Saturday afternoon, as the final touches were being put on the expansive banners being hung across the front entrance of the building.

"Putting these banners up in front of City Hall has become something of a Buffalo tradition," Brown stated, as he was flanked by a group of City Hall workers.

Brown says the banners are a symbol of Buffalo's resilience.

"We are a strong community. We are a resilient community. We have lifted each other up, and we are here today to show our support for our beloved Buffalo Bills," he said.

The banners are nine feet wide and 17 feet long, and there are spaces being left open to add a banner if the Bills move on to become AFC champions, and even Super Bowl champions.

Brown says the banners have become a draw for thousands of fans, from near and far, to come take photos and "selfies" with the giant banners as a backdrop.

The Bills begin their playoff run on Sunday with a 1 p.m. EST kickoff against the Miami Dolphins at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park.
