Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - After a plethora of moves last week to clear some salary cap space, the Buffalo Bills are reportedly working to clear some further space ahead of the new league year on Wednesday.
According to a report from ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler on Monday, the Bills have restructured the contract of tight end Dawson Knox, lowering his $14.4 million cap hit that was expected for the 2024 season. It is not known at this time how much the Bills are expected to save with this contract restructure.
This contract restructure for Knox comes after a drop in production this past season, in addition to missing some time in the lineup due to a wrist injury. The 27-year-old recorded a career-low 22 receptions for 180 yards and only two touchdowns.
The Bills also saw the emergence of rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid after he was drafted in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Buffalo will hope for a healthier and more productive season from Knox in 2024, especially after the release of wide receiver Deonte Harty and the departure of wide receiver Gabe Davis in free agency.
