Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) – The Buffalo Bills added some depth to their running backs room ahead of Tuesday's NFL Trade Deadline, but not as the result of a trade.
The Bills have signed free agent veteran Leonard Fournette to the team's practice squad, as was first reported by both Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report and Tom Pelissero from NFL Network.
To make room for Fournette, the team has released defensive tackle Kendal Vickers.
The 28-year-old spent the past three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, recording 22 total touchdowns, 1,847 rushing yards and 1,210 receiving yards (3,057 total yards).
Fournette was the fourth overall pick by the Jaguars in the 2017 NFL Draft and spent three seasons with Jacksonville, tallying 19 total touchdowns, 2,631 yards rushing and 1,009 yards receiving (3,640 total yards).
This move comes after the Bills placed running back Damien Harris on Injured Reserve following a Week 6 win over the New York Giants with a neck injury.
Buffalo's other running backs on the roster are James Cook, Latavius Murray and Ty Johnson.
