Julian Edelman was not spotted at the start of practice for the New Enlgand Patriots on Thursday and it's related to his injured knee that has bothered him all season.

According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, Edelman underwent a "precautionary standard knee procedure" on Thursday morning that will put him out of Sunday's matchup with the Buffalo Bills and longer. The procedure is not expected to keep him out for the rest of the 2020 season, but he will miss "some period of time."

The 34-year-old has been on the injury report all year with a knee injury, which has seemed to impact him more and more of late. He has eight catches in his last four games combined.

Edelman is not the only injured Patriots receiver, as N'Keal Harry missed his second straight day of practice with a concussion suffered against the San Francisco 49ers. It seems more likely than not that Harry will also miss Sunday's game in Orchard Park.

The Patriots' healthy receivers on the 53-man roster are Damiere Byrd, Gunner Olszewski and Jakobi Meyers. There's Isaiah Zuber, Mason Kinsey and Kristian Wilkerson on the practice squad.

The Bills and Patriots are square off at Bills Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
