Reports: Bills bring back Kyle Allen, re-sign Mitch Wishnowsky

Buffalo loses Mitch Trubisky as the backup quarterback

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - It was reported Monday that the Buffalo Bills would be losing pending free agent backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky to the Tennessee Titans.

To fill the void, the Bills are reportedly bringing back one of the same backup quarterbacks who was on the roster when Trubisky left to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers for a couple years before returning to Buffalo: Kyle Allen.

Allen was Josh Allen's backup in 2023, and saw the field in seven games, but did not attempt a pass in the regular season.

Over eight seasons with six different teams, Allen has started 19 games, going 7-12 and completing 62.5% of his pass attempts for 4,753 yards and 26 touchdowns to 21 interceptions.

The Bills have also reportedly agreed to a new deal with their punter for the majority of last year, re-signing Mitch Wishnowsky.

In 13 games with the Bills last season, the 34-year-old averaged 45.3 yards per-punt, put 18 of his 38 punts inside the opponent's 20-yard line, and only had three touchbacks.
