While the Buffalo Bills’ passing offense didn’t appear to be as dialed in as it had been for most of training camp on Tuesday morning, the running game certainly came alive.

Running backs Devin Singletary and Matt Breida both broke off long gains during 11-on-11 drills. Although players were wearing full pads, the defense was not live tackling all the way to the ground. Obviously that may have impacted the overall result of the plays, but there were still good holes to run through, and both backs showed great vision.

Antonio Williams also had a couple of nice runs when he was given an opportunity.

Zack Moss, who started practice, left the field early with trainers and never returned. Christian Wade has been out with a shoulder injury. So Singletary, Breida, and Williams were the only three backs available for most of the practice.

Josh Allen wasn’t nearly as precise as we’ve seen throughout camp, and also fumbled as he was scrambling once.

However, Allen found wideout Jake Kumerow for a perfectly placed pass, and then drilled an absolute dart to Emmanuel Sanders between defenders while on the run. Kumerow had to go up to get his ball, and did a great job to come down with it, continuing his impressive training camp.

It was probably the longest practice of camp so far, starting out in the rain and ending in the sunshine and heat just outside the ADPRO Sports Training Center.

Wide receiver Stefon Diggs did not practice once again, as he’s dealing with a knee injury. However, he was on the field in his jersey, walking around and talking to players.

Offensive linemen Jon Feliciano and Tommy Doyle both returned after a one-day absence due to a non-COVID-19 illness. Fellow lineman Forrest Lamp was still out with a calf injury.

Breida and cornerback Tre’Davious White both returned after leaving Monday’s session due to heat-related issues. Linebacker Matt Milano also returned after leaving Monday with a mouth injury.

Offensive tackle Dion Dawkins, still on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, was, once again, on the field but not participating.

However, defensive end Jerry Hughes (calf) did participate for the first time all of training camp after the team activated him from the non-football injury list. Hughes only took part in individual position work and did not participate in any team drills.

The Bills also announced on Tuesday they have placed linebacker Marquel Lee on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

The team will practice one more time, on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. ET before heading to Detroit on Thursday to face the Lions in the first preseason game for both teams on Friday night.
