Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR) - Buffalo Bills safety, core special teams player and captain Sam Franklin Jr. has been suspended one game by the NFL for spitting towards an opponent during last Sunday's 33–30 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
According to a league source, Franklin vehemently denies the allegation and will be appealing the suspension.
Franklin is the second Bills player this week suspended for spitting towards an opponent. Safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson was also suspended for one game for spitting towards Raiders tight end Brock Bowers on Sunday.
Both players are currently suspended for the team's Week 8 contest on Nov. 1 against the Baltimore Ravens, pending the appeal by Franklin.
