Stefon Diggs had a whole lot of catches to choose from when determining what the most rewarding play of his stellar 2020 season was. In fact, there were 127 of them, which is the sixth-highest total a wide receiver has ever put up in a single season.
Among them were his 50-yard touchdown against the New England Patriots in a Week 16 blowout, which would be followed by two more touchdown receptions in the second half. There was his improbable score with Jalen Ramsey draped all over him in the red zone when the Bills and Los Angeles Rams faced off in, what became, an epic 35-32 Week 3 win. And there was the catch he made over Las Vegas Raiders safety Erik Harris that made him look like a man among boys.
All of these grabs, and more, are the reasons why Diggs was ranked as the No. 11 player in the entire league by fellow players in this year's iteration of NFL Network's Top-100 countdown. And many of these highlight-reel catches are featured in the video that goes along with his placement on the list.
However, when asked about the most "rewarding" play of Diggs' 2020 season, the Pro Bowl wideout showed off his humility and chose a clip we probably wouldn't have thought of. 127 catches, many of them jaw-dropping snags, and the play that stuck out to Diggs as the "most rewarding" was one in which he helped a teammate score a touchdown... and knocked down a San Francisco 49ers defender in the process.
Hey Madden, did you see that play? You might want to move his run blocking grade up a few points from its current figure of 53, which ranks in just the middle of the pack at the position.
However, his 97 overall rating places him fourth among wide receivers behind only Davante Adams, DeAndre Hopkins and Tyreek Hill. The first of those two have yet to be seen on the NFL Top-100 list, meaning they're both in the top-10, while Hill placed just a handful of spots behind Diggs at No. 15.
If Diggs has an even stronger 2021 campaign with Allen, now that they've had a year to develop their chemistry, the top-10 should be a pretty reachable goal for the pass-catching machine.
