The Buffalo Bills have nominated cornerback Tre'Davious White for the 2020 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award on Thursday, which recognizes players who exemplify outstanding sportsmanship on the field.
Each year, all 32 teams nominate one player from their roster for the award that was created back in 2014 to honor the late founding owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Art Rooney, Sr.
According to the NFL, "the award is presented each year to an NFL player who best demonstrates the qualities of on-field sportsmanship, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents, and integrity in competition."
Later this month, a panel of former NFL players will select a total of eight finalists (four from each conference) from the group of 32 players, and then the winner will be voted upon by current NFL players.
The winner of the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award will be announced during the NFL Honors show and will receive a $25,000 donation from the NFL Foundation to a charity of their choice.
Washington Football Team running back, now with the Detroit Lions, Adrian Peterson was named as the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award back in 2019, while Bills linebacker Lorenzo Alexander was named as last year's nominee by the team.
