Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September on Thursday, marking the third time in his career he has earned the league honor.
To start the 2023 season, Bass led all AFC kickers with 31 points. He's been perfect to this point of the year, converting all 10 extra point attempts and going 7-for-7 on his field goal attempts.
Bass also converted two field goal attempts from 50 yards out or more. One of which came in the team's Week 1 matchup against the New York Jets when he converted a 50-yard attempt with two seconds left in regulation to send the game to overtime.
The 26-year-old has also earned AFC Special Teams Player of the Month honors in October of the 2021 season, and last year for the month of November.
With this being Bass' third AFC Special Teams Player of the Month award, he is now tied with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Pittsburgh Steelers pass rusher T.J. Watt for most Player of the Month honors won since entering the league in 2020.
