Cleveland Cavaliers guard Collin Sexton is out for the season after undergoing left knee surgery.

The 22-year-old sustained a torn left meniscus in the team's 126-109 win over the New York Knicks on Nov. 7, the Cavaliers confirmed in a press release Friday evening. He had surgery to repair the knee on Nov. 17.

It's an unfortunate end to the former No. 8 overall pick's fourth NBA season. Across his first 218 professional games, Sexton is averaging 20 points per game, while shooting nearly 46% from the field.

The Cavaliers are off to a 9-8 start in the 2021-22 season.
