Jason Kelce undergoing 'routine cleanout' surgery on right elbow

Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce is set to undergo surgery on his ailing right elbow, one that the team suggests isn't an especially concerning procedure.

According to Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal, the team said that "after trying to work through discomfort in his elbow, it was agreed that a routine cleanout (surgery) was in his best interest and would also allow for a speedy recovery."

An exact timetable on the recovery for the 34-year-old wasn't immediately given.

The four-time All-Pro is preparing for his 12th season. The Eagles selected his potential successor in the form of former Nebraska center Cam Jurgens in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
