Villanova basketball head coach Jay Wright is expected to step down, according to CBS Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein.

Wright, 60, is contemplating retirement, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Fordham University coach Kyle Neptune is expected to replace Wright, according to Charania.

Wright, who was inducted into the Basketball Hall Of Fame in 2021, is one of the most accomplished coaches in Philadelphia sports history, not just in college basketball. Wright won two National Championships, reach Four Final Fours, and was named Naismith College Coach of the Year two times.

Wright, a native of Churchville, PA and graduate of Council Rock High School North, has a 520–197 (.725) record at Villanova over 21 seasons.
