The Dallas Cowboys have key contributors dealing with injuries, but you wouldn’t know it from looking at the scorelines.

Dallas sits at 2-0 and has outscored its opponents 70-10 this season after walloping the Jets 30-10 on Sunday. The win over the Jets came with Brandin Cooks (knee) and Tyler Smith (hamstring) out due to injuries, while Zack Martin departed during the fourth quarter with an ankle injury.

Smith has yet to play this season, while Cooks didn't participate in practice at all last week. Martin was on the injury report during the week with a groin injury, but ultimately left with the ankle ailment, which he downplayed the significance of.

“When you name those three and I’m thinking we had parts of the game that we didn’t have those three in there and yet we had that kind of game, it blows my mind,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones admitted Tuesday in his weekly appearance on Shan & RJ.

While it was good resolve for a team missing some regulars, the hope seems to be that the trio of injured Cowboys could be back in time for Sunday’s game against Arizona.

“Of course, we’re holding our breath,” Jones said. “Waiting on Tyler Smith, got a shot, got a real shot here for Sunday. Then of course, you know what Cooks means to this thing, and meant to us out there the other day by not having him. And that was even more impressive how we stepped up with our passing game.

“But Cooks, I’m anticipating he’ll be – he was close there Friday or Saturday, when we were checking him out, he was close to playing. So I think we can see those guys working in this week, all of them you’re talking about. And Martin doesn’t look like he’s going to miss much time as far as I can tell.”
