If you thought Edwin Diaz’s trumpet intro was great, wait until you hear what Daniel Vogelbach walked up to the plate to on Wednesday.
As part of the New York Mets’ Women’s Day celebrations at Citi Field, each player chose a walk up song by a female artist and perhaps no one had a better song than Vogelbach.
The Mets DH decided to walk up to the song, “Milkshake” by Kevis, and if you have never heard the song before, well, just listen to the lyrics closely as he comes up to the plate. Or check them out here.
Needless to say, the portly, left-handed hitting Vogelbach was embracing his unique physique in a fun and colorful way, for sure.
While Vogelbach may have won the day, there were plenty of other good choices by the Mets roster, which also included Taijuan Walker warming up to Beyoncé’s “Run the World (Girls).”
Some pretty good choices in there (we see you, Mark Canha), but it is a tough call if anyone topped Vogelbach.
We’ll see if any of these stick beyond just the Women’s Day festivities. Surely, it could depend on how well a day they have at the plate.
