Perhaps if this baseball thing doesn’t work out thanks to MLB’s crackdown on sticky stuff, some of MLB’s best pitchers can move on to a different entertainment endeavor?
After a 48-hour period where several pitchers expressed disgust with being checked for illegal substances – including Sergio Romo dropping his pants – adult entertainment website CamSoda has made a unique offer to seven MLB hurlers, including two of New York’s finest:
We are offering Max Scherzer, Sergio Romo, Jacob deGrom, Gerrit Cole, Trevor Bauer, Zack Wheeler and Yu Darvish $100,000 to undo their belts, drop trou and perform in a 1-hour long X-rated cam show on our site.
CamSoda is a live adult webcam site frequented by many of adult entertainment’s finest (purely research, Audacy…), and in the open letter company VP Daryn Parker sent to the hurlers as part of the press kit, they claimed that Tuesday’s shenanigans “felt like we were watching a rendition of the Magic Mike Show last night instead of some good ole’ American baseball.”
The letter goes on to say that Parker “fully expects this sticky situation to continue and more pitchers to get enraged about random spot checks during games,” so instead of “continuing the trend of dropping trou and exposing themselves for free, I wanted to offer a handful of MLB pitchers the opportunity to perform on CamSoda.”
Of course, this isn’t CamSoda’s first foray in trying to “reach out” to athletes for a premium; during the NBA All-Star break, the company offered James Harden a VIP pass to keep him out of the strip clubs in Atlanta, and during March Madness, they also all players a VIP pass to “keep them from getting into trouble” in the NCAA’s Indiana bubble.
Considering Romo, at $2.5 million, has the lowest salary for 2021 of the bunch, it’s highly unlikely CamSoda will have to pay out...but hey, you never know!
