At this point, what can’t Nestor Cortes do?
On Sunday, the crafty lefty continued his rise to dominance as a starter with five shutouts innings that included 12 strikeouts and an immaculate inning.

On Saturday, Cortes provided more evidence that he just might be Superman, catching a feed from Anthony Rizzo and soaring like the Man of Steel to dive and tag first base just ahead of a head-first sliding Steven Kwan to end the top of the fourth inning.
Cortes has become a cult hero among the Yankee fanbase, and his hustle and athletic dive to the bag only helped grow his legend. His no-hit bid was broken up in the fifth by a two-run home run off the bat of Josh Naylor, but nevertheless, Cortes is clearly beloved.
