With the Cowboys, new draft picks secured, and their newly signed undrafted free agents coming into the fold as well, Covington and White were likely names to be removed from the roster heading into camp season.

In eight career games over the past two seasons with Dallas, the 24-year old made just three solo tackles and rarely saw the field in a real capacity.

White, on the other hand, did not play in a regular-season game last season for the Cowboys after being signed on Halloween day, spending the rest of the year on the practice squad before his release.

Before that, White spent time with the Kansas City Cheifs, Indianapolis Colts, and more recently the Atlanta Falcons in the first half of 2019, before moving to Dallas.
