Pittsburgh, Pa. (93.7 The Fan/WGR Sports Radio 550) - After a historic run as head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Mike Tomlin is stepping away.
The move comes minutes after locker room cleanout, as players were discussing how much they enjoy played for him and what Tomlin has meant to them.
Tomlin ends his 19-year NFL career after a seventh-consecutive playoff loss, 30-6 on Monday night at home against the Houston Texans.
Overall, Tomlin was 193-114-2 in 19 years of regular season games, along with an 8-12 record in the postseason. This also includes a title in Super Bowl XLIII and another AFC Championship in Super Bowl XLV.
Tomlin and Chuck Noll are tied for tops among Steelers coaches in regular-season wins.
