Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The University at Buffalo men’s basketball team has a new head coach, as the school announced the hiring of former Villanova University associate head coach George Halcovage III.

Halcovage was an assistant at Villanova for 15 seasons, starting as a graduate assistant in 2008 under head coach Jay Wright. During his time in Villanova, the team won two national titles (2016 and 2018), seven Big East regular season titles and five Big East tournament championships.
Halcovage becomes the 15th head coach in UB men’s basketball history.
