Miami has reached an agreement on a trade to acquire star linebacker Bradley Chubb from the Denver Broncos, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.

In exchange for Chubb and a fifth-round pick in 2023, the Dolphins were sending a 2023 first-round pick, a 2024 fourth-round pick, and running back Chase Edmonds. The first-round pick came via the 49ers in the deal that allowed San Francisco to move up for Trey Lance prior to the 2021 NFL Draft.

Chubb, 26, has 5.5 sacks through eight games in 2022. For his career, he has 26 sacks in 49 games.

The former North Carolina State star brings some much-needed pressure from the edge for the Dolphins' playoff push. The team was in the bottom-third of the league with just 15 sacks.

Despite the relative lack of pass rush, the Dolphins were 5-3 through their first eight games, including a stretch of two-plus games without starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
