Report: Haason Reddick ends holdout, will report to Jets Monday

Reddick was acquired by the Jets from the Eagles this offseason

New York (WFAN/WGR Sports Radio 550) - On the day Davante Adams was set to make his Jets debut, one of New York's premier offseason acquisitions has also decided to come to work.

As first reported by ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, who spoke with Haason Reddick’s representation on Sunday, Reddick has ended his contract holdout with the Jets and will report to the team Monday morning.

According to Schefter, Reddick will receive the balance of his 2024 salary, approximately $9 million, and will have incentives added into his deal that could allow him to recover the $12 million in fines he has lost during his holdout, as NFL rules do not allow the Jets to simply waive them.

"We will continue to work towards a long-term extension with the Jets," agent Drew Rosenhaus, who took over Reddick’s representation after he was dropped by CAA, told Schefter, adding that Jets owner Woody Johnson was very involved in the process as well.

The Jets had given Reddick and Rosenhaus permission to seek a trade, but instead, they will now add the two-time Pro Bowler to a defense that is tied for third in the NFL with 20 sacks this season.

Reddick was acquired in a March trade with the Eagles, but skipped all offseason activities and training camp over frustrations that he did not have a long-term deal – even after rejecting an offer from the Jets after the trade – and was instead playing on the final season of a three-year deal he signed with Philadelphia that was to pay him $14.25 million in base salary.

The Jets have a two-week roster exemption option on Reddick due to the holdout, so if he does not make his debut next weekend against the New England Patriots or on Halloween against the Houston Texans, he would have to be active for the team’s Nov. 10 post-bye game against the Arizona Cardinals.
