Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN/WGR Sports Radio 550) - After a 20-year career in the National Lacrosse League, Matt Vinc has decided to retire.

Vinc wraps up his historic career winning six titles in the NLL, including three-straight championships as a member of the Buffalo Bandits from 2023-25.

Over the course of his career, Vinc set all-time NLL regular season records among goalies for minutes played (17,836), saves (11,824), and wins (182). His 321 career games played also finishes just one behind the all-time NLL record set by Dan Dawson, brother of current Bandits defenseman Paul Dawson.

When it comes to playoff games, Vinc is well above the rest of the field, in terms of all-time records, with games played (57), goalie minutes (3,232), saves (2,122) and wins (40).

Vinc is also an eight-time NLL Goalie of the Year winner.

In a letter posted on the Bandits' website, Vinc says he was coaching his son when he had an epiphany.

"I’m having fun just doing this. Maybe this is my next chapter," wrote Vinc.

He went on to say it's time to give back.

"I’ll still be close to the game, but it will be through coaching Bodie and my daughter, Lily, along with my team at Denis Morris Catholic High School in St. Catharines. I want to help kids enjoy the same opportunities that lacrosse gave me," Vinc added.

In addition to winning three-straight titles with the Bandits, Vinc won three-straight titles as a member of the Rochester Knighthawks from 2012-14.
