Olympic silver medalist Anita Alvarez to throw out first pitch at Bisons game Friday

The Bisons will be celebrating "Women in Sports Day" on Friday at Sahlen Field

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN/WGR Sports Radio 550) - Fresh off a silver medal performance in artistic swimming at the 2024 Paris Games, Anita Alvarez returns to Western New York on Friday to throw out the first pitch at the Buffalo Bisons' game.

Alvarez has been a member of Team USA's synchronized swimming program since competing in the 2014 Junior World Championships. She won the silver medal in the team acrobatic routine and the bronze medal in the team technical routine at the 2023 World Aquatic Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, as well as the bronze medal in team acrobatic routing and team free routine at the 2024 World Aquatic Championships in Dohar, Qatar.

The Paris Summer Olympics were her third time competing with Team USA in the Olympics.

Alvarez will be one of the women throwing the first pitch as part of "Women in Sports Day" on Friday at Sahlen Field.

Deb Cummins - Buffalo Bills' ticket operations manager
Juliana Prezelski - University at Buffalo assistant athletic director for football operations
Jacey Brooks - University at Buffalo women's basketball associate head coach
Tiffany Swoffard - Canisius University women's basketball head coach

First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. ET.
