Rory McIlroy wins the 2025 Masters

McIlroy becomes the sixth golfer to complete the career Grand Slam

Augusta, GA (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The 2025 Masters Tournament ended in dramatic fashion with Rory McIlroy beating Justin Rose in a playoff winning his first career Masters. With the win, McIlroy becomes the sixth golfer joining Tiger Woods, Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, and Jack Nicklaus to win all four majors in their career.

McIlroy held a two-shot lead over Bryson DeChambeau heading into the final round at Augusta Nation Golf Club. McIlroy started the first hole with a Double Bogey. McIlroy put himself in a jam with another Double Bogey and a Bogey on holes 13, and 14.

McIlroy was able to bounce back and held a one-shot lead heading to the final hole of the Masters. McIlroy missed a putt finishing -11 and going to a playoff with Rose.

In the first round of the playoff McIlroy was able to beat our Rose hitting a Birdie to win his first Masters Tournament. The win also marks McIlroy's first major championship since the 2014 PGA Championship.

This is McIlroy's third win of the 2025 season, winning the Players Championship and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
