Tyreek Hill may have been drinking pickle juice on the sidelines in Week 15, but we're not sure what the heck was Eric Bieniemy drinking in Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons.
On fourth-and-1 from the Atlanta 26, the Chiefs went all the way to the unused portion of the playbook to whip out a strange play.
Not pictured in the above clip was a little synchronized spin that Patrick Mahomes, Sammy Watkins and Darrel Williams pulled off prior to the snap. The official box score recap reads as follows:
(Shotgun) Direct snap to Darr. Williams. S. Watkins pass deep left intended for P. Mahomes INTERCEPTED by K. Neal at ATL 2.
In other words, it wasn't a play that you'll see every day.
Had the Chiefs been out of field goal range, it could have been seen as a good way to pin the Falcons deep, within their own five, but it didn't matter. Matt Ryan subsequently led a nine-play, 98-yard drive over the next five minutes that resulted in a Hayden Hurst score to put the Falcons up 7-0.
As expected, social media had some fun with the bizarre attempt.
