The New Orleans Saints' run of difficult offseason news continued on the day the team was set to kick off training camp practices.
All-Pro return man and wide receiver Deonte Harris was arrested earlier in July for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, according to a report from Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.football.
Few details are yet known about the circumstances of the arrest, including where and what day it occurred. Regardless it is likely to mean yet another key Saints player misses time, with the typical suspension for such a violation sitting at two games.
The news comes less than a week after it was first revealed that star wide receiver Michael Thomas would likely miss the start of the season as he recovers from ankle surgery in June. Both Saints GM Mickey Loomis and Saints coach Sean Payton addressed the media Wednesday, expressing that they would've liked to see it happen sooner, in hindsight.
