The Jets made a series of unflattering headlines late this week, in a way that only Gang Green can.

WFAN hosts Craig Carton and Evan Roberts had some fun at the Jets' expense, with Carton proclaiming that "the Jets pulled an absolute trifecta of Jetsisms that make you say to yourself, 'the world is still the same.'

"I'll tell you what, the Jets did act like the Jets today," Carton quipped. "There are some things in life you can count on. Of course, dying, paying taxes, and the New York Jets being the New York Jets."

First, head coach Adam Gase curiously said he was blindsided by former star defensive back's Jamal Adams' criticism and ultimate request to be traded. The remarks came ahead of the Jets' matchup with the Seattle Seahawks, a potential "revenge game" for the former No. 6 overall draft and the team that selected him.

Next, was the team's bizarre nomination of former cornerback Pierre Desir for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award -- a strange move considering he no longer plays for the team following a dismal run of play.

"I'm not saying he isn't a good guy and he doesn't deserve this," Roberts said. "But, as a football player, he was a terrible New York Jet. Do you want me to say something different, to lie just to be nice?"

And finally was owner Woody Johnson's incoherent response to a passionate tweet from CBS Sports Radio host Brandon Tierney, in which Tierney implored Johnson to reward Jets fans with a team befitting their passion and loyalty.

The bizarre reply tweet was a nonsensical string of characters, and was widely roasted across the internet.

"Woody Johnson came out of hibernation today," Carton said of the US' Ambassador to the UK.

"We have sent this code out to Israeli scientists, who told us that there was an interstellar galactic meeting amongst world leaders, to discuss and let the American people know that there are actually UFOs and extraterrestrials living on our planet, and we're waiting to hear back how he deciphers, "@-U-PERIOD-I."

Roberts noted it was strange for Woody to respond to Tierney's tweet, because the Jets owner doesn't even follow the radio host on the social media platform.
