Honestly, this is getting ridiculous. If the Flyers never see Mika Zibanejad again it will be too soon. To say the Rangers forward owns Philadelphia would be an understatement. Eight days after massacring the Flyers to the tune of three goals and three assists—all in the span of one period—Zibanejad struck again, delivering another six-point performance Thursday in Philadelphia.

Just as he did when the Flyers visited MSG on St. Patrick’s Day, Zibanejad completed a rare natural hat trick, pillaging the Flyers for three straight goals—all of the power-play variety—between the first and second periods. The 27-year-old from Sweden was also credited with three assists, running his season point tally to 14 against Philadelphia. That accounts for over half his scoring output this year (26 points in 32 games). Zibanejad’s 12 career goals against the Flyers—half of them coming in the past week—are tied for his most against any opponent. He’s also contributed 12 goals against Boston, Carolina and Washington.

The Rangers have absolutely annihilated Philadelphia of late, outscoring them by a combined 17-3 in their last two meetings. Opponents have held a 20-8 edge on the Flyers over their current four-game losing skid. It doesn’t get any easier for Philadelphia with the slumping Flyers slated to host Zibanejad and the Blueshirts again Saturday at Wells Fargo Center.
