The 2022 NHL Draft opened Thursday night in Montreal with Slovakian forward Juraj Slafkovsky chosen first overall by Canadiens. It was the first time in NHL history a Slovakian-born player had ever gone first overall in the draft.
Another top prospect came off the board at No. 29 with the Arizona Coyotes drafting Maveric Lamoureux, a 6-foot-7 defenseman who spent last year playing junior hockey with the Drummondsville Voltigeurs in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Lamoureux's parents were in the audience, beaming with pride as the 18-year-old Ontario native made his way to the podium, donning a Coyotes sweater for the first time.
Caught up in the emotion of their son accomplishing his childhood dream of becoming a first-round pick in the NHL, Isabelle and Patrick Lamoureux met lips with a passionate kiss, with ESPN's cameras capturing the steamy moment for all to see.
Predictably, the couple's lustful display was widely circulated on social media, with wisecracks galore from the Twitter peanut gallery, imploring the Lamoureuxs to get a room.

Lamoureux probably didn't expect to see his parents making out (tongue was a bold choice) on his big night, though maybe he should have given his last name, which literally translates to "the loving one" in English.
The draft concludes Friday with Rounds 2-7 in Montreal.
