PITTSBURGH (93.7 The FAN) - The NHL on NBC's Pierre McGuire joined The PM Team for his weekly interview on Tuesday, and discussed the NHL's Edmonton bubble, today's Pens-Flyers exhibition and the upcoming qualifying round series between Pittsburgh and Montreal that kicks off this weekend.

Currently quaratined in Edmonton, Pierre praised the NHL's COVID-19 protocols and described his own process to get to the bubble.

"So far I'm blown away by the level of thoroughness by the National Hockey League," he said. "Before I was able to get on the plane in Montreal, I had to take a COVID test and I live way up in the woods in Northern Quebec in the summertime. They dispatched a person to come to my house because I couldn't leave my house. She actually tested me, and I got the results a day later so I could get on the plane. It's been amazingly thorough, and I think really professionally done. And the league deserves a lot of credit for this, they really do."

Pierre also shared his thoughts on the qualifying round series between the Pens and Canadiens, saying he thinks Pittsburgh has the offense to dominate this series.

"Montreal has a really tough time down the middle, so the center ice position - when you do tail of the tape - Pittsburgh wins handedly. And now when you add in the scoring ability of a Jake Guentzel, and the help that he has and the kind of season Bryan Rust has, I think Pittsburgh has more domination in terms of scoring from the wings than Montreal will have as well."
