If you thought you would have a summer without "Cowboy" Joe West, think again. In his first season since retiring as an umpire, the polarizing personality will be doing more than just working on his country music.

The Podcast Heat Network announced Monday that West will begin doing a weekly show entitle "5460: The Joe West Podcast" beginning on May 2:

"I hope the audience will find my experiences and the people I crossed paths with over the last 44 years as interesting as I have," West said in a release. "I’m looking forward to sharing my stories and talking with old friends about the game we love."

KMOX's Mike Claiborne -- currently in his 16th year on the Cardinals radio broadcast team -- will host the show with West.

However you felt about West during his career, he set an MLB record with 5,460 career games as an umpire. Henry Aaron was still an active player when West began his career as an umpire, and he hung around long enough to see Shohei Ohtani win the American League MVP as a two-way star in 2021. With such a big personality and a lifetime in the sport, it's doubtful that this podcast will be dull.
