The Tennessee Titans — and fantasy football players everywhere — have sustained a huge blow to their team, and possibly season.

Star running back Derrick Henry underwent an MRI on Monday after suffering a potentially season-ending foot injury during Sunday’s 34-31 win over the Indianapolis Colts, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter. Schefter adds to his original report saying the concern with the Titans is Henry suffered a Jones fracture that would require surgery.

While addressing the Tennessee media on Monday, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel confirmed that Henry will undergo surgery to repair the damage to his injured foot, but would not give a timetable for a possible return to the football field.

Sunday was Henry's worst game of the 2021 season, as he rushed for just 68 yards on 28 carries and did not find the end zone.

Henry has been the centerpiece of a Titans offense that is second in the league in rushing, averaging 152 yards per-game, and sixth in the league in scoring, averaging 28.4 points per-game.

The Titans running back has been used more than any other rusher in the league — leading the NFL in rushing attempts in each of the last two seasons and again this year, carrying 219 of the Titans’ 230 rushing attempts this season.

He also leads the league with 937 rushing yards — 353 more yards than the next closest rusher — and 10 rushing touchdowns, making his absence a crushing blow for the Titans.

With the possibility of losing Henry for the season, this could force the Titans to go find another running back to add to the lineup via either free agency or a trade before Tuesday's trade deadline. According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, one name the Titans are expected to work out is the last running back to win the NFL's MVP honor, Adrian Peterson.
