NEW YORK (93.7 The Fan) - According to a report, Steelers General Manager Kevin Colbert suggested that each team in the NFL should be given three extra draft picks in 2020, to help with the challenges the coronavirus outbreak has created.
Colbert added that he believes teams could make more mistakes with the absence of person to person meetings, Pro Days and private workouts.
That would make the Draft 10 rounds this year.
This year’s draft is still scheduled for April 23-25 and will be the first-ever virtual draft.
Teams are still allowed to do videoconference calls with potential picks for an hour up to three times a week.
Teams can also interview an unlimited number of players as long as they give their interview list to the NFL league office.
Colbert declined to comment to the Daily News on the reported idea.
The Steelers will not have a #1 pick this year.
They traded that pick to Miami for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick last season.
