Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - For the first time since 2010, a Buffalo Sabres player has been named to an end-of-season NHL-All-Star team.
Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin was named a Second-Team All-Star on Friday, along with Edmonton Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard. The First-Team defensive pairing is Norris Trophy winner Zach Werenski (Columbus Blue Jackets) and Cale Makar (Colorado Avalanche), who finished second in Norris Trophy voting.
Dahlin finished third in voting for the Norris Trophy, but was fourth in All-Star voting with 451 points. Bouchard had 483 points, while Makar had 759 points and Werenski had 864 points.
No other Sabres player received a vote for the NHL All-Star rosters, including 40-goal scorer Tage Thompson.
Dahlin is the first Sabres player since Ryan Miller in the 2009-10 season to be named to an end-of-season All-Star Team. That year Miller was a First-Team All-Star after winning the Vezina Trophy as the league's best goalie.
