Buffalo, Ny. (WGR) - The Buffalo Sabres are back on home ice once again, this time looking to get back in the win column after a loss on Thursday night. Buffalo is welcoming the Utah Mammoth for their lone visit to KeyBank Center this regular season.
The Sabres first power play goal of the season was scored on their first special teams chance of the game against Utah. Tage Thompson sent the puck to the net from a bad angle, and it found its way across the goal line.

Thompson's third goal of the season snapped Buffalo's 0-for-13 start to the power play this season. Rasmus Dahlin was credited with the only assist on the score that gave Buffalo a 1-0 lead in the first period.
Utah answered back several minutes later when Kailer Yamamoto receoved a pass from Barrett Hayton and scored into an open net. Yamamoto was able to get near the top of the crease without any defender on him, creating the goal. Hayton and Mikhail Sergachev assisted on the game-tying goal, 1-1.
The Sabres were credited with seven shots on goal in the opening period, while Utah recorded 12 shots on goal. Each team had one power play chance, Utah was unable to score on their one chance in the first.
