Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - After a thrilling five-game homestand, the Buffalo Sabres are now heading out West to start a four-game road trip, starting on Tuesday with a matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights.
As the Sabres keep their playoff pace winning four out of five games at home, the Sabres will look to continue their winning ways to end the 14-season playoff drought.
Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff admits how magical this season has been compared to last season.
"It's one of those ones where you really don't want to talk about it, or knock on wood, because you don't want it to something to happen. But yeah, when you get on a roll like this, a lot of fun. The atmosphere and the energy the players have every day is incredible." said Ruff on Tuesday during his weekly appearance with the "Jeremy and Joe Show" on WGR. "And I think we went through it a lot of adversity last year, which I talked about, and think we learned from that".
Despite the backlash from fans on how the Sabres lineup has been put together Ruff is only concerned about clinching a playoff spot.
For myself and our staff, and we talk about putting the lineup right now, the only thing we talk about is, is winning the next game" Ruff said with Jeremy White and Joe DiBiase. "What is the best lineup? It's going to help us win tonight. But it is right now, all about locking up a spot. You can see how incredibly tight East still is from first and ninth place there's nine points. There's a heck of a battle going on here in in the east, and for myself and the staff, it's only about the next game and making sure we win".
