Sabres announce return of annual Prospects Challenge starting Sept. 11

Five teams will take part in the annual tournament at Harborcenter, with each team playing three games

Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Sabres announced on Monday the return of the annual Sabres Prospects Challenge this coming September at Harborcenter.

A total of five teams will, once again, compete in three games each over the course of the tournament, starting Thursday, Sept. 11 and continuing through Monday, Sept. 15.

The tournament gets started on Sept, 11 with the New Jersey Devils taking on the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Then on Friday, Sept. 12, the Pittsburgh Penguins will face off with the Boston Bruins, before the Sabres host the Devils at 7 p.m.

The only game scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 13 will feature the Sabres taking on the Blue Jackets at 7 p.m.

The on Sunday, Sept. 14, there will be two afternoon games with the Bruins tangling with the Devils, followed by the Blue Jackets squaring off with the Penguins.

The final game of the tournament will feature the Sabres matching up with the Penguins for a 12 p.m. faceoff on Monday, Sept. 15.

You’ll be able to hear every Sabres games at the Prospects Challenge with myself, Brian Koziol and Brayton Wilson on the coverage. Friday and Saturday will be on WGR Sports Radio 550, while Monday’s game is on The Bet 1520 when Pat Malacaro taking over for Brian.
