Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) – In a letter sent out to season ticket holders, the Buffalo Sabres will make no changes to their ticket prices from what they were going to do for the 2020-21 season.
If you recall, the team is using an analytical approach to certain seats and sections in the building. For example, it costs more to get seats in the end where the Sabres shoot twice in each game. Seats along the glass also cost more.
The Sabres are bringing back "SabreBucks" as a benefit, which is 2%.
The team feels it’s important for every season ticket holder to have a rep that they can contact with any questions or to get information.
One thing fans will notice is from here on out, season ticket renewals will be done in February to give fans more freedom on interest free payment plans.
With fans being let back into the building that is close to full capacity, the team will try to do more events. From what I understand, it’ll be like a fan experience.
Most season tickets are going to be done using mobile phones. If a fan doesn’t have a phone that can access the app, the team will print them something they can use.
With the team being out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for 10-straight years, marketing this team and selling tickets is going to be a challenge. The team is building a plan that will make the fan experience a strong one and makes them part of the experience. They are also asking fans what they want and what they are looking for.
I’m hearing that there’s going to be a draft night watch party at the arena for a small amount of season ticket holders. Due to COVID-19 protocols, there’s only so many fans that they can bring into an event like that.
The NHL season will likely start around a week later than it normally does in October.
