Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Sabres will be without one of their top forwards for a while, as Alex Tuch has officially been placed on Injured Reserve.

The Sabres winger was able to play the entirety of Friday night's 3-1 win over the Florida Panthers in South Florida. However, at the end of the game, Tuch was seen limping down the tunnel to the locker room with, what appeared to be, a lower-body injury.
Tuch is in the middle of a career year with the Sabres, scoring 28 goals and registering 34 assists for 62 points in 57 games played. If Tuch had maintained the pace he was at, playing the entirety of the 82-game season, he would have reached the 40-goal mark and produced 89 points.
To replace Tuch's spot on the active roster, the Sabres have called up forward Vinnie Hinostroza from the Rochester Americans.
In 11 games this season since being sent down to Rochester, Hinostroza has scored five goals and put up four assists for nine points.
Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams says Tuch is "on the longer side" of a week-to-week timeframe, but the lower-body injury is, at least, two weeks.
Adams also says defenseman Rasmus Dahlin has been trying to play through some things and they need to give him a rest. He will not play on Sunday against the Washington Capitals and is considered day-to-day.
Faceoff on Sunday against the Capitals is set for 1 p.m. EST.
