Sabres re-sign defenseman Casey Fitzgerald

Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) – The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed defenseman Casey Fitzgerald to a two-year, two-way contract worth $1.5 million deal.

The Sabres took the right-handed defenseman in the third round of the 2016 NHL Draft out of Boston College. After four years with the Eagles, Fitzgerald has spent two years in Rochester, scoring five goals and 17 assists for 22 points in 51 games.

The 24-year-old has not played in the NHL yet.
