Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) – The Buffalo Sabres have extended qualifying offers to just two of their restricted free agents on Friday. The team has qualified forwards Brett Murray and Linus Weissbach, while Tyson Jost, Matej Pekar and Kale Clague will become unrestricted free agents on Saturday.
Both Murray and Weissbach were integral pieces of the Rochester Americans' success this past season, especially when it came playoff time.
While Murray did not see NHL action this year, he played 71 games for the Amerks, scoring 23 goals and adding 26 assists for 49 points. In 14 playoff games, the 24-year-old netted four goals and registered six assists for 10 points.

As for Weissbach, he has yet to make his debut at the NHL level, but continued to produce well in his second year in the AHL. The 25-year-old produced 47 points (20+27) in 69 regular season games this year, while amassing 10 points (3+7) in 12 playoff games.
For those not given qualifying offers, Pekar has been injured for most of his career in the Sabres organization. He was a former fourth-round pick of the team in the 2018 NHL Draft.
In the cases of Jost and Clague, just because they weren't qualified doesn't mean they won't be back. General manager Kevyn Adams has said there is mutual interest to bring, at least, Jost back for the upcoming season.
