Sabres sign Tyson Kozak to three-year entry-level contract

Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Sabres have managed to sign another one of their recent draft picks to an entry-level contract.

The team announced on Friday the signing of forward Tyson Kozak to his three-year entry-level draft. Kozak was the Sabres' seventh round pick (193rd overall) in the 2021 NHL Draft.

The 19-year-old had a breakout 2021-22 season playing for the Portland Winterhawks in the Western Hockey League, scoring 32 goals and registering 37 assists for 69 points in 66 games. Kozak finished the year fourth in team scoring, while also serving as captain of the Winterhawks.

In parts of four seasons with the Winterhawks, Kozak has amounted 109 points (48+61) in 152 games.

The native of Souris, Manitoba is the sixth draft pick from the 2021 NHL Draft class for the Sabres to sign his entry-level contract. This offseason alone, Kozak is the eighth Sabres prospect to sign their entry-level contract.
