Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) – Ahead of the release of the complete regular season schedule on Wednesday, the Buffalo Sabres announced their 2025-26 home opener that will take place on Thursday, Oct. 9 against the New York Rangers.
Last season, the Sabres earned wins in 2-of-3 matchups with the Rangers, earning a 6-1 win in New York, but splitting the two games in Buffalo with an 8-2 win and 3-2 loss.
Buffalo's home opener for the 2024-25 season was not a good one, as the team lost 3-1 to the Los Angeles Kings in Lindy Ruff's first home game back behind the Sabres bench. This came after the team had lost the first two games of the year in Czechia against the New Jersey Devils.
The complete 2025-26 regular season schedule will be released by the NHL at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
