Sabres to wear black, red 'goathead' jerseys 15 times this season

The jerseys will be worn during all Friday home games

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN/ WGR Sports Radio 550) - If you like the Buffalo Sabres' black and red "goathead" uniform, you're in for a treat.

The team announced Wednesday morning they'll wear the uniforms once again this upcoming season for 15 games. The uniform will first be worn Saturday, Oct. 26 against the Detroit Red Wings.

The Sabres have had good luck wearing the "goathead" jerseys, compiling an 18-7-2 record in the uniform over the last two seasons. The team originally wore the colors from 1996-2006, one of the most successful periods in team history.

The Sabres will start training camp later this month. The first game of the regular season is set for Friday, Oct. 4 against the New Jersey Devils in Prague, Czechia.
