Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) – Hockey begins this week for the Buffalo Sabres, as the team announced on Monday their roster for the Sabres Prospects Challenge.

Buffalo is bringing in some of their first-round picks for the tournament, including Isak Rosen, Matt Savoie and Jiri Kulich.
Savoie and 2021 fourth-round pick Olivier Nadeau were at Sabres Development Camp, but couldn't do any on-ice practice work due to injuries. Nadeau is on the roster, but likely won't be able to play.

Buffalo's 2021 second-round pick Aleksandr Kisakov has his immigration problems settled and will be there.
Some of the players that looked very good in development camp will be in Buffalo for the tournament. That list includes 2021 third-round pick Josh Bloom, 2021 seventh-round pick Tyson Kozak, 2019 sixth-round pick Lukas Rousek and 2022 fourth-round pick Mats Lindgren.
Local product Declan McDonnell has been invited to play for the Sabres in this year's Prospects Challenge. McDonnell was taken by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the seventh round of the 2020 NHL Draft. He played with the Buffalo Jr. Sabres and also participated in development camp.
Buffalo will play three games in the Prospects Challenge starting Thursday against the Montreal Canadiens, followed by Saturday against the New Jersey Devils and Monday against the Ottawa Senators.

Join me, Brian Koziol and Brayton Wilson for all the play-by-play action Thursday and Saturday on WGR Sports Radio 550. Pat Malacaro will be with me Monday for an afternoon game over on The Bet 1520.
