Bryce Harper is out of the lineup for the fourth consecutive game Thursday afternoon, so the Philadelphia Phillies' slugger is coming up with creative ways to entertain himself.
With Zack Wheeler and Aaron Nola watching on, the reigning National League MVP convinced a fan sitting near the dugout to trade hats:
Harper hasn't played since receiving a PRP injection into his right elbow Sunday, as he looks to avoid Tommy John surgery on the "small" tear that he has in the UCL of his throwing arm. Phillies manager Joe Girardi acknowledged earlier this week that the soonest Harper will return to right field if all goes well will be after the All-Star Break.
Thankfully for the Phillies and Harper, the DH is now universal and the UCL injury hasn't prevented the six-time All-Star from being productive at the plate. Harper won the National League Player of the Week last week, and is slashing .305/.361/.634 with nine home runs, 27 RBIs and a .994 OPS in 2022.
