The reigning Slam Dunk Contest winner showed what makes him one of the NBA's top jam artists during preseason action against the Pacers on Friday night.

The former Dayton star electrified the home crowd at Madison Square Garden with a thunderous between-the-legs slam after initiating a fast break on a fine defensive play late in the third quarter.

The 24-year-old New York native, now in his third year after the Knicks selected him eighth overall in 2020, is seeking a breakout season.

He showed promise last season in relatively limited action, averaging 9.0 points and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 53% from the field in 17 minutes per game.

The former AP college player of the year and consensus first-team All-American showed a respectable 3-point shooting touch with Dayton, suggesting a step forward could be in the offing if he secures more minutes in his third year under Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau.

In any event, his dunking game appears to be in midseason form.
