The Head Football Coach of the Charlotte 49ers joined Kyle Bailey today on the Clubhouse as he discussed how many things changed over the past week, including an extra game with a familiar team in the Old North State.
Kyle asked Will about what it took to schedule App on such a short notice and Will explained:
"I've got a really good relationship with Shawn (Clark) and we talked as well as their AD Doug Gillen as well as our AD Mike Hill our good buddies and we were able to work it out. We were trying to possibly play the game at Bank of America Stadium on September 5th, but when phase 2 on the COVID restrictions we couldn't do that so we all thought that the best to play the game with fans was at their place on September 12th. It's a great game for our players and our fan base, and I have so much respect for that program, and we have a hot one comin out of the gates."
Kyle also asked what Coach Healy has seen with his team in practice and he notices how the players seem to be at peace that the season will start, and Coach Healy tells Kyle how he is excited for the depth on the 49ers squad this year, but he realizes that they lost some very talented players last year as well.
